Edge Grove School Masterplan

The project provides the Masterplan and several implemented and designed phases for the onward development of an established independent Prep School in Hertfordshire.

The Grade II Listed school was in need of development to adapt to current education needs and to enhance its market position in the sector. Lyons+Sleeman+Hoare developed a sequenced Masterplan beginning with the completed new Lower School Building (now named the Apthorp Building). 

Masterplan Overview

In common with many similar schools which started in the same era and centred on legacy historic houses, the layout of parts of the school had become limitations on the enhancement of facilities. The second phase provides the reconfiguration of the existing listed school house together with a spacious new dining hall which allows collective dining for the increased pupil numbers.

Further phases include a new Science Block building providing doubled teaching and Lab space (planning permission granted 2020).
